Expo East 2021 Highlights

Two weeks ago I traveled to Philadelphia for Natural Products Expo East 2021. The show was back on after last year’s cancellation and while smaller than usual, it was still - for me - a great opportunity to connect with brands. While at Expo East 2021 I was looking for: One // Keto-friendly snacks for my lower carb days Two // High protein plant-based options Three // Allergen-free … [Read more...]

Is Rent the Runway Worth It: My Review + Promo Code

09/24/21

My last Rent the Runway review was focused on my experience using Rent the Runway for pregnancy. Now I'm almost two years postpartum (crazy, how fast time flies!) and I'm still using Rent the Runway! Since I'm often asked "Is Rent the Runway worth it," I figured I'd write an updated Rent the Runway review based on my recent experience. Use code RTRMARISSA to get 40% off your first two months … [Read more...]

Favorite Jumpsuits for Women: My Jumpsuit Obsession

09/15/21

woman standing on steps in a jumpsuit

The last time I did any kind of fashion round-up, it was for my pregnancy must-haves. But now, jumpsuits are having such a moment that I figured I'd give them some air time here. Besides, I'm always on the hunt for jumpsuits for women that work for any occasion - daytime, date night, loungewear, pregnancy - you name it! It must have been sometime during my pregnancy when I became totally … [Read more...]

Tips for Traveling with a Toddler

08/30/21

Last year around this time, I wrote about how to take a car trip with an infant. Now that airline travel is back and we've flown with our now toddler, I've gotten some questions about tips for traveling with a toddler. I'm no expert, but here are some tips for traveling with a toddler that have worked for us. *All tips herein apply to domestic travel only. One // Plan flights around nap … [Read more...]

Tulum Travel Guide: Kid-friendly Tulum

08/18/21

I promised a Tulum travel guide when we returned from our trip. Before I dive in, a lot of people asked me, "is Tulum kid-friendly." The short answer is not really, but it can be so I'll include some tips for a more kid-friendly Tulum experience. Why Tulum Tulum has been a bucket-list travel destination for my husband for awhile. For me, it was less so. Now that we've been, I can see why … [Read more...]

Our South Carolina Family Vacation

06/03/21

After a long year and a half at home - and what felt like an even longer Winter, we were looking forward to getting away together as a family as soon as it felt safe enough to travel. Our South Carolina family vacation ended up being just the thing we needed to ease back into traveling. Since I'm writing this as the Covid pandemic is beginning to hopefully wind down, I will add that we discussed … [Read more...]

Evive Smoothie Review + promo code | Marissa Vicario | Health Coach

Eat the rainbow - I've always both practiced and preached this simple approach to eating. Flooding my body with nutrients from a variety of fruit, veggies and superfoods is the #1 way I feel like my most vivacious self. Of course, the best way to do this is to eat whole foods, but another way to get more nutrients than you could possibly get from one meal is by drinking smoothies. I recently had … [Read more...]

Six Resources for New Moms

04/12/21

When I was a new mom and even a mom-to-be, I couldn't have made it through those early days without the advice and support of other moms. Not only moms who had been there and done that, but also moms who were in the trenches with me. I've shared openly about my postpartum journey and because of that, I wanted to compile a list of resources for new moms that I found helpful when I was navigating … [Read more...]

Baby Registry Must Haves (0-1 year)

03/29/21

About half-way through my pregnancy, I started to panic about everything I would need - and didn't yet have - to bring a baby home. I spent hours and days franticly Googling, comparing products and reading reviews to determine the baby registry must haves I needed to add to my own personal registry. By the time Valentina was born, we still didn't have everything we needed, but it ended up being … [Read more...]

I was in the West Village for an event and hadn't had my matcha fix yet. I passed Aoko and made a mental note.

Then I proceeded to pass many more matcha cafes with long lines.

Aoko didn't have a line and it seemed authentic to me. Also, I recalled hearing good things.

The vibe was a little sterile. You order off a screen and there's a huge selection of matcha drinks and ice cream. Then wait for your number to be called.

I chose the Coconut Matcha Cloud. There was no description on the screen and the actual drink looked nothing like the photo.

It was a cloud of whipped matcha floating on top of coconut water with tapioca-like shapes on the bottom.

My expectations were low. But I ended up being pleasantly surprised. Once the whipped matcha mixed with the coconut water, it was incredibly creamy and I could tell the matcha was high quality. 8.5/10. I'll be back to try the regular matcha latte. 💚💋🍵

This is a new-to-me boutique jewelry brand. The pieces are stunning, hold meaningful affirmations and are just incredibly wearable.

I even got to meet the Founder @jennlow.wco who explained the meaning and inspiration behind the pieces.

There were so many beautiful pieces to layer and try on. I chose the Heart Locket Necklace to take home.

Inside it says "follow your heart" and it can be worn open or closed though I like it opened best.

I was also eyeing the You are Magic Medallion Locket.

So I bought that too!

Such a fun morning in the West Village! I can't wait to wear my new jewelry! 💚💋🪎 #wcocommunity
There is so much beauty and nature in and around N There is so much beauty and nature in and around NYC and so much to see and do. We've been taking advantage of the perfect weather and venturing beyond our neighborhood with Valentina to show her all this incredible city has to offer. Last weekend was @metcloisters and @forttryonpark , which brought me back to 2007 in the city when I would circumnavigate Manhattan on my bike starting at the East River down to the The Battery and up the Hudson River to The Cloisters and Fort Tryon Park then back down the East River through Harlem- a 30 mile round trip. We enjoyed a long walk and explored the stunning gardens inside the park before perusing the museum. The perfect way to spend a holiday Monday. 💚💋🏰
