Disney with a Toddler: Part 2

05/25/23

Last year we went to Disney with a toddler and had so much fun we did it again this year. In last year’s post, Disney World with a Toddler, I mentioned that I’ve never been a Disney fanatic. I went once or twice as a child and never considered going back. That is, until I had a Disney and princess-obsessed… Read More

Our Stay at Blackberry Farm

11/08/22

In mid-October, we booked our stay at Blackberry Farm. Blackberry Farm was always a dream getaway for me. It’s booked at least a year in advance so I never thought we’d have the chance to go. Somehow, David made it work and surprised me with a two-day trip! We had the nicest, coziest stay at Blackberry Farm. It truly re-charged… Read More

11/01/22

This Summer we took a family trip to Los Cabos. We stayed at two different luxury hotels during our 10 day trip – Montage Los Cabos and Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal. That said, I’m writing this Los Cabos Travel Guide comparing the Montage vs. Waldorf Astoria. If you’re considering where to stay in Los Cabos, you’ll want to read… Read More

Disney World with a Toddler

07/19/22

I have a confession: I have never been into Disney. In fact, the thought of going to Disney World with a Toddler never appealed to me at all. I went once or twice as a kid, but after that, nothing in me wanted to go back. Then I had my daughter, and that all changed. Suddenly, I couldn’t wait until she was… Read More

Tips for Traveling with a Toddler

08/30/21

Last year around this time, I wrote about how to take a car trip with an infant. Now that airline travel is back and we’ve flown with our now toddler, I’ve gotten some questions about tips for traveling with a toddler. I’m no expert, but here are some tips for traveling with a toddler that have worked for us. *All… Read More

Tulum Travel Guide: Kid-friendly Tulum

08/18/21

I promised a Tulum travel guide when we returned from our trip. Before I dive in, a lot of people asked me, “is Tulum kid-friendly.” The short answer is not really, but it can be so I’ll include some tips for a more kid-friendly Tulum experience. Why Tulum Tulum has been a bucket-list travel destination for my husband for awhile…. Read More

Our South Carolina Family Vacation

06/03/21

After a long year and a half at home – and what felt like an even longer Winter, we were looking forward to getting away together as a family as soon as it felt safe enough to travel. Our South Carolina family vacation ended up being just the thing we needed to ease back into traveling. Since I’m writing this… Read More

What to Pack for Labor and Delivery

10/23/20

I know this post is so long overdue – about a year to be exact, but I can’t write this blog without including what to pack in your hospital bag for labor and delivery. When my water broke with Valentina, my hospital bag was half packed. To add insult to injury, I didn’t bring it with me when we left… Read More

How to Take a Car Trip with an Infant

09/05/20

If you really want to know how to take a car trip with an infant, my best advice is don’t do it! In all seriousness, after four long months at home in our NYC apartment during the pandemic, we needed to get away. We found an amazing house in Palm Beach County with a private pool and that solidified our… Read More

How I Turned My Passion Into a Business: Next Generation.TV

I say this ALL 👏🏻 THE 👏🏻 TIME - the we I say this ALL 👏🏻 THE 👏🏻 TIME - the weekend is 43% percent of your week!

How many times have you started a program or created new habits and stuck with them during the week, but then totally flew off the rails come the weekend?

That was always me. I’d feel like every Monday I was “starting over” or “getting back on track” after every vacation. I absolutely hated that feeling.

Because the weekend is such a large chunk of the week, being in that cycle didn’t feel good to me. When I found TRIM, I was ready to make healthy living an actual LIFESTYLE that I could maintain anytime, anywhere, and still enjoy cocktails without the guilt.

I found that TRIM made it easy to do that. Did I still need to make some sacrifices and be disciplined? Of course you always will when you have goals to reach.

These tips are what I share with my clients to keep nutrition balanced on the weekends so they can still live their life but not set themselves back on reaching their goals.

My next round for TRIM starts on June 5. This is my last round until August.

Calories and carbs can seem scary. If you’ve b Calories and carbs can seem scary.

If you’ve been following me for awhile, you’ve probably heard me say it before, but I’ll say it again: Eating fewer calories and fewer carbs is not the recipe for weight loss.

In TRIM, we calorie cycle and carb cycle.

This means we eat fewer calories on some days and more, or regular, calories on others. For carb cycling, we do two back-to-back low carb days.

We pair our lower calorie days with rest days and our low carb days with HIIT workouts.

Mot days, we’re eating in the “more” range for calories and carbs and that can be difficult for women who are used to restricting one or the other – or both!

Your body needs carbs and calories for your metabolism to fire, muscles to build and to fuel your body for daily activity.

Limiting one or both to see a quick and short-term drop in weight (and it WILL be just that – quick and temporary), will damage your metabolism making it harder to lose weight in the future. It can also affect your thyroid and adrenal function.

To see lasting results, you have to fuel your body.

That’s why in TRIM we CALORIE CYCLE and CARB CYCLE so your body gets the fuel it needs.

Calorie Cycling keeps you in a caloric deficit and Carb Cycling depletes your body of glycogen. Both can help with weight loss.

Ready to give this a try and finally make long term changes?

We start June 5. Go to the link in my bio or trimbootcamp.com/marissa-mcfarland to sign up!

Why is TRIM 49 days (7 weeks) long? Studies show Why is TRIM 49 days (7 weeks) long?

Studies show it takes anywhere from 21 to 66 days to form a habit.

The key is consistency. When you repeat the same behavior, it becomes more automatic and ingrained in your daily routine.

In TRIM, I keep the schedule the same for my clients…the same daily tasks….and daily accountability to make sure you form not just a habit, but a lifestyle.

I know it’s important to set realistic goals and start small, so we focus on one habit at a time.

I help you celebrate your progress along the way and to keep perspective if and when you slip up. And when you do, I help you get back on track and keep pushing forward.
