Spring Cleanse – Day 3

05/13/10

But more than that, I had taken an herbal laxative on Night 2 (in lieu of the suggested colonic recommended on a cleanse) which caused terrible stomach cramping. Day 3 was also more stressful than usual for me at work and … [Read more...]

Spring Cleanse -Day 2

05/12/10

Day 2 of the lovely spring cleanse has come and gone and it seems it took the spring weather with it! I mentioned in my Day 1 post that I felt hungry all day. While the hunger has subsided a bit and I've gotten used to an empty stomach, the feeling is still there. It can be good to understand the true feeling of hunger so this is worthwhile but after a 6 mile run yesterday, I may have cheated and … [Read more...]

Most Inflammatory Foods: Friend or Foe

03/19/10

My Health Coach Training Program at Integrative Nutrition is nearing an end. As I reflect on everything I've learned about myself and my diet over the past year, I've noticed that one theme has emerged -  inflammation. The topic of inflammation is particularly poignant because inflammation causes illness. Thus, the goal is to eat an anti-inflammatory diet. Thus, the question is, what are the most … [Read more...]

Avoid the Common Cold: Simple Steps for Staying Healthy

02/15/10

As seen in The Beauty Bean   By Marissa Vicario If your office is anything like ours, colds spread like wildfire. For many, it seems that at this time of year, only prayer and luck will keep you from being the next one hit with the bug.
