Fall Salad: Dandelion Greens with Honey-Dijon Vinaigrette

10/01/13

Now that it's Fall, I still love making easy salads for dinner paired with a protein but since the cooler weather is blowing in, I like to beef them up a little. There are so many ways to winterize salads as the weather gets even colder, but for now, let's talk about this one special salad that was a dinnertime hit on Sunday night. Dandelion greens are a heartier green, a great alternative to … [Read more...]

Healthy Living Summit Recap 2013

09/19/13

I confess, this year I discovered I love going to blogger conferences where I don't know anyone and in cities I've never been to. Of course, this may sound crazy for an introvert like me, but sometimes I surprise myself. Last weekend, I went to the Healthy Living Summit in Minneapolis, Minn. and in May I went to Bloggy Boot Camp in Charlotte, Nc. I'm so excited about this conference that I … [Read more...]

Athleta Iron Girl 2013 Race Recap

09/18/13

I meant to post this recap sooner but I've been "processing" this race and for the past two weeks coupled with I'm really not one for race recaps. Even after all the processing, I'm not sure what to say about the Athleta Iron Girl Triathlon, so I'll let the pictures and numbers do most of the talking. Two Sundays ago was my third time doing this race (previously called the Danskin Women's … [Read more...]

Setting Goals and Getting Results

09/03/13

There's a fine line between wanting something and actually making it happen and it comes right down to setting intentions. At the end of last year, I set my intentions for 2013 by writing down my goals and desires, then creating a plan to put them into action. Guess what? Every single one of those desires has come to fruition so far. My list included things like travel … [Read more...]

Meal Planning Inspiration: How to Plan Meals in Minutes

08/26/13

I have a "to-do" list that's pages long. Similar, I'm sure, to most of you and the last thing I want to do is add another weekly chore to it, like meal planning. So, I figured why not offer some meal planning inspiration and show you how I plan meals in a matter of minutes.  I'm an advocate of eating at home more often than dining out, so planning is a necessity, but I'm not about to spend even an … [Read more...]

How to Grow Wheatgrass

08/22/13

Have you ever seen those people -- or maybe you're one of them -- taking little green shots at the juice bar? Doing shots at a bar is a little too reminiscent of my behavior in my 20s. Only those shots weren't full of health benefits, but still. I prefer to juice - and take my wheatgrass shots -- at home when I can, so I embarked on a little project of growing my own … [Read more...]
