This One’s for the Chocolate Lovers

08/24/10

Chocolate lovers take heed! My favorite way to enjoy chocolate lately is not in cupcake form. I’m loving raw cacao nibs which are as crunchy and satisfying as they are nutritious. Cacao is the source of all choocalte and cocoa but in a pre-processed form so it maintains all the antioxidants and minerals that uphold the claim that dark chocolate… Read More

My Happiness Recipe

08/22/10

Every year around mid-August, I get the end-of-summer blahs and this weekend’s hazy, rainy weather didn’t do much to lift my spirits. Not only does the weather go through transitions between seasons, but so do our bodies. We often need to take time to shut down and recharge so we can prepare for cooler temperatures and heartier foods and that’s… Read More

Running on Empty

08/19/10

I used to be a Diet Coke-a-day kind of girl, never much of a coffee person although I did enjoy the occasional sugar-free Gingerbread latte. Now I’m proud to say I no longer rely on caffeine to get me through my days. I’ve always been a bit of a lightweight when it comes to caffeine so a little goes a… Read More

Taking to the Pole

08/17/10

This must be the week of the Groupon because in addition to the one I used for my Boot Camp classes, I used another one last night for an Introductory class at S Factor, a pole dancing exercise class. I blogged here more than a year ago about my first visit to the S Factor studios in NYC. Since I… Read More

A Bigger Picture of Health

08/16/10

Fellow blogger Lindsey over at Sound Eats has launched a new site, Healthy Living Blogs. The question she poses this week: What does health mean to you? As a Health and Wellness Coach with a blog about healthy living, you would think this would be an easy one but as I thought through how I would answer, I realized that… Read More

Bootcamp Day 1: Bang for the Buck

08/16/10

My workouts lately have consisted of running and yoga so I was long overdue for a change in routine. I bought a Groupon for Stacy’s Bootcamp earlier this year and figured now was as good a time as any to use it. Monday at 6 a.m. comes early but there is no better way to start the week than with… Read More

ABC Kitchen Sets Bar High on Farm to Table

08/15/10

The number of must-try restaurant options available in NYC makes being a health coach in this city a constant challenge (a topic I addressed in a previous post). I often venture out to the latest and greatest restaurants only after careful study of the menu. But when the restaurant has raw, vegan or farm to table themes, I’m there in… Read More

Summer Sweat

08/14/10

Today just might be the best weather we’ve had in NYC all Summer! My boyfriend and I were awake bright and early and since he has been feeling under the weather, decided to forgo our morning run but traded it for a stroll over the Brooklyn Bridge. He and I have both made the trip once before but never together… Read More

The Great Closet Cleanout

08/12/10

Beyond a healthy diet and exercise, your home environment contributes to overall well-being. Whether your papers are filed, your workspace is inspiring, your air quality is in check or your closet is organized will impact how you feel about yourself. When I moved out of my studio apartment last year and in with my boyfriend, I gained a massive walk-in… Read More

I was in the West Village for an event and hadn't had my matcha fix yet. I passed Aoko and made a mental note.

Then I proceeded to pass many more matcha cafes with long lines.

Aoko didn't have a line and it seemed authentic to me. Also, I recalled hearing good things.

The vibe was a little sterile. You order off a screen and there's a huge selection of matcha drinks and ice cream. Then wait for your number to be called.

I chose the Coconut Matcha Cloud. There was no description on the screen and the actual drink looked nothing like the photo.

It was a cloud of whipped matcha floating on top of coconut water with tapioca-like shapes on the bottom.

My expectations were low. But I ended up being pleasantly surprised. Once the whipped matcha mixed with the coconut water, it was incredibly creamy and I could tell the matcha was high quality. 8.5/10. I'll be back to try the regular matcha latte. ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’‹๐Ÿต

This is a new-to-me boutique jewelry brand. The pieces are stunning, hold meaningful affirmations and are just incredibly wearable.

I even got to meet the Founder @jennlow.wco who explained the meaning and inspiration behind the pieces.

There were so many beautiful pieces to layer and try on. I chose the Heart Locket Necklace to take home.

Inside it says "follow your heart" and it can be worn open or closed though I like it opened best.

I was also eyeing the You are Magic Medallion Locket.

So I bought that too!

Such a fun morning in the West Village! I can't wait to wear my new jewelry! ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’‹๐ŸชŽ #wcocommunity
There is so much beauty and nature in and around N There is so much beauty and nature in and around NYC and so much to see and do. We've been taking advantage of the perfect weather and venturing beyond our neighborhood with Valentina to show her all this incredible city has to offer. Last weekend was @metcloisters and @forttryonpark , which brought me back to 2007 in the city when I would circumnavigate Manhattan on my bike starting at the East River down to the The Battery and up the Hudson River to The Cloisters and Fort Tryon Park then back down the East River through Harlem- a 30 mile round trip. We enjoyed a long walk and explored the stunning gardens inside the park before perusing the museum. The perfect way to spend a holiday Monday. ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’‹๐Ÿฐ
