My Pregnancy Must-Haves for All Trimesters

08/22/19

When I first found out I was pregnant, I’ll admit I was completely lost and oblivious to all the pregnancy must-haves available. Instead of jumping right in and buying everything in sight, I took it slowly and observed my own changing body and what it needed and asked for. I’m still learning as I go, but I’m proud to report… Read More

My Rent the Runway for Pregnancy Review + Promo Code

08/09/19

One of the simple joys of this pregnancy is dressing my bump. I started outgrowing my pre-pregnancy clothes around Week 13. However, I feel adamant about not buying an entirely new wardrobe or frumpy maternity clothes. So, I decided to try Rent the Runway for pregnancy. After using it through my second trimester and now into my third, I can offer… Read More

Our Big Island Babymoon

08/07/19

Although I may be remiss in calling our recent Hawaiian vacation a “Big Island Babymoon” – it was really just our Summer vacation – it has a nice ring to it so I’m going with it. It most certainly will be the last time we travel somewhere far away during my pregnancy so in that sense it was a Babymoon!… Read More

This post was sponsored by Tobacco Free New York State as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central and all opinions expressed in my post are my own. As a kid, growing up in the 80’s (yes, I’m that old but you probably already know that by now!), I was surrounded by tobacco ads – on television, in magazines,… Read More

DRY JANUARY Some personal thoughts and observatio DRY JANUARY
Some personal thoughts and observations

🍸I did it because I've always wanted to but my social life never cooperated. This time I decided to make it cooperate instead of waiting for it to.

🍸I never had a "problem" with alcohol and didn't drink much, but thought I could benefit from a break as most people could

🍸Being In perimenopause sleep and anxiety have become an issue for me and I found that alcohol potentially exacerbated those issues.

🍸At first it was like breaking a habit as I found myself looking forward to my usual glass of wine on Friday nights to unwind, but I replaced that drink with a yin yoga class and sound bath that I love as a way to regulate my nervous system instead

🍸I've enjoyed feeling more present when I go out to dinner or spend time with friends and exploring the many mocktail and NA drink options on menus has been fun. I've also been drinking more tea.

🍸Am I going back to drinking? Not immediately or maybe not ever. I haven't decided yet but I do know I need more time to reap the benefits of this lifestyle before I decide.

I'll keep you posted!

Winter Storm Photo Dump: I was solo parenting and Winter Storm Photo Dump: I was solo parenting and came down with a bad cold. All I wanted to do was stay inside and rest, but a big dump of snow is so rare in NYC that I didn't want my 6-year-old to miss out, so I told her we would take a walk to check it out after lunch, a promise to myself to get out for fresh air as much as it was to her. She added that on our walk we should get Hot Chocolate - it was a date! So after lunch, we bundled up and made the best memories I could have asked for on a simple walk to get Hot Chocolate. We came back with cold hands and warm hearts. 💚💋❄️
