09/11/10

I’ll be using the time I would spend posting today to remember those who lost their lives on 9.11.01 – please join me on this day of rememberance.

The Inspired Kitchenista: Asian-style Lettuce Wraps

09/09/10

I love to cook but to do it well and with love, I need to be inspired. Last week, I was browsing Facebook and came across a post by the Institute for Integrative Nutrition plugging their What’s On Your Plate? contest and congratulating one of the winners. This recipe is courtesy of Eleanor Haddad of Elemental Fit whose Asian-style Lettuce… Read More

Kickin’ Comparison to the Curb

09/08/10

Week two of the Inner Mean Girl (IMG) Cleanse has come and gone. I’ll be the first to admit, the past week has been a busy one for me and I wasn’t as present to the cleanse this week as I had been during Week 1 when gossip was the goner (I’m still working this one by the way). But… Read More

Giddy for Gluten-free Pizza

09/04/10

What a delightful weekend! There is no better way to say goodbye to summer and enjoy a holiday weekend than indulging in delicious healthy and some not-so-healthy food. This weekend, I clearly had pasta and pizza on my mind. My boyfriend is a lover of both and I on the other hand, despite being Italian, have never had quite so… Read More

A Farewell to Bootcamp

09/03/10

After three weeks of grueling workouts, I huffed and puffed my way through my last Stacy’s Bootcamp session this morning. Miles of running with 1 gallon water bottles, battling both heat and heavy rain downfall and countless push-ups, jump squats, planks, sit ups, leg lifts, bear crawls and lunges have made me stronger and more firm. Read aboout my first… Read More

I Heart Eataly.

09/03/10

When Mario Batali, one of the masterminds behind Eataly welcomed me to the Italian marketplace last night, the experience easily became one of the highlights of my six years living in NYC. My boyfriend and I celebrated a year and a half together yesterday and with all the attention and rave reviews Eataly has been getting, we decided to spend… Read More

My Week without Gossip

08/31/10

I’ll admit, when this week’s Inner Mean Girl (IMG) Challenge called for a week of no gossip, I was a little freaked out. I don’t consider myself a Gossip Queen but I do enjoy the occassional juicy tidbit. Let’s face it, it’s a sad reality that as women, it is in our nature to gossip the cost of it keeping… Read More

Sunday Evening Vegan Adventure

08/30/10

In a continuous effort to a) nurture my love of vegan and raw food and b) venture outside of my usual favorite raw/vegan restaurants to explpore some of the other gems this city has to offer, I planned a trip to Quintessence with my boyfriend last night. I’ll preface this post by saying that while he is open-minded about other… Read More

The Smoothie Comes to Life

08/27/10

I “met” Lisa Orgler of The Lunch Box Project on Foodbuzz and was immediately enthralled with her food art. It’s whimsical and totally adorable. I submitted the smoothie photos from my blog in the hopes of getting my creations illustrated and luckily, the talented artist loves smoothies as much as I do! Check out her blog post about this masterpiece… Read More

When I started losing my pregnancy weight, I felt When I started losing my pregnancy weight, I felt like I lost it everywhere but my lower belly. At 6 weeks postpartum, I was cleared to workout and told I didn't have diastasis recti, but the truth is, I should have been doing deep core exercises to strengthen my pelvic floor and support my core anyway. Fast forward to June 2022, with most of my pregnancy weight gone, I was frustrated with the "mommy Pooch" that was left behind. I tried everything from changing up my macros to focusing on traditional abdominal exercises and even TRIM's 'Banish the Bloat' program thinking maybe I was just bloated.

About a month ago, I started focusing primarily on the deep core exercises in my Deep Core Guide (free copy at the link in my bio and linked in stories). These are the only Ab exercises I've done for the past 4 weeks. I've done them consistently everyday - it takes about 6 minutes at the end of my workout and the photo on the right is a recent one where it's clear these deep core exercises are working!

They're designed to target your transversus abdominis (TA muscles) and train your tummy to lie flat. Not interested in aflatter tummy? That's ok! They're still great for strengthening your core which is important for the overall health of your muscles and joints. For example, a strong core can help eliminate low back pain.
