10 Superfoods That Love You Back

02/13/14

I had the opportunity to preview the newest edition (3rd ed.) of Integrative Nutrition: Feed Your Hunger for Health and Happiness. This book has been like my nutrition bible since attending IIN five years ago. But I was pleasantly surprised to see a TON of new content, including a sidebar about global superfoods. Eating the right food has everything to… Read More

Confessions of an Imperfect Health Coach

07/03/12

When I first started in health coaching, I had a need to portray myself as someone who had it all figured out because I so wanted to have it all figured out. I mean, we all want to have it figured out, but the truth is, we are all a work in progress.  For as long as I can remember,… Read More

Five for Friday, Elizabeth Stein, purely elizabeth

05/11/12

Fellow IIN grad Elizabeth Stein has a personality so sweet it’s no irony she created a line of baking mixes. But they’re not like the other baking mixes. purely elizabeth baking mixes are are all-natural, vegan, made with high quality ingredients and free of gluten and refined sugar. And the ancient grain granola is so addictive that it has become… Read More

Raw Foods vs. Cooked Foods

03/07/12

I would imagine that if an avocado were to incarnate it would probably look like this. David “Avocado” Wolfe is to IIN students and graduates what Justin Bieber is to teenage girls. Totally crush-worthy. And for good reason. His spirit and enthusiasm about raw superfoods is enough to make you want to forage your own. His motto: “When you’re green… Read More

Sugar Addiction, Emotional Eating and Why I Deleted My Entire Inbox

03/06/12

I have 2 confessions to make: 1. I have always loved sugar. 2. One day, a few weeks ago, I deleted all of the HUNDREDS of un-read emails in my inbox (aside from client emails, of course) Oh, and one more, thing, I’m guest blogging today over at Fit Chick In the City about the Health and Happiness Summit with… Read More

Is Bread the Devil?

03/05/12

I’m back from Long Beach and the Institute for Integrative Nutrition’s Mega Conference. It was so hard to leave this. But I got to come back to this. So no complaints there! The question of the day: Is bread the devil? It depends on who you ask: Mark Sisson or Paul Pitchford. Mark Sisson I’m usually not a big advocate… Read More

Health Coaches Have More Fun

03/05/12

I used to spend my weekends at the bar giving my phone number to cute guys, drowning my sorrow-of-the-moment in lots of cocktails and the resulting munchies in late-night pizza. In the morning I’d wake up regretting the pizza and nursing the hangover with more junk food wondering if the guy who now had my phone number would ever call…. Read More

Five Reasons I Can’t Wait For Next Weekend: IIN Mega Conference

02/25/12

In less than a week I will have touched down in sunny Southern California to attend the  Institute for Integrative Nutrition’s Mega Conference. I’ve been selected as a VIP Blogger for the event so I’ll be blogging live all weekend. But that’s not the only reason I’m excited for this can’t-miss event. Here’s what’s also getting my green juice flowing:… Read More

@theoutsidein is an oasis in the city. It's serene @theoutsidein is an oasis in the city. It's serene and aesthetic and sells more than just coffee by way of fragrance and body care. The matcha was rich and bright green. My fatal mistake was ordering a hot matcha latte on a sunny day. The almond milk must be homemade because the drink was so thick and tasted overpoweringly of almond milk. I was unable to finish it. I'd try it again because being in the space itself (especially the outdoor area) is such a treat. ⭐️5/10 💚💋🍵

I tried the Honey Jasmine Lavender Matcha Latte at I tried the Honey Jasmine Lavender Matcha Latte at @streetblends.nyc and give it a 6/10.

I loved the decor inside. They call it a caffeine shop, because coffee.

Ordering was kind of a pain on this screen especially because the employee physically took the order from the person behind me and I had trouble with the screen and while she tried to be pleasant the employee was clearly annoyed and wanted to help the other customer.

The drink itself was sweet and I couldn't really taste the matcha.

One thing I need to do differently is order the same drink everywhere so I can evaluate from the same baseline. I just get excited to try different flavor profiles. 💚💋🍵
Before there was matcha there was cacao🍫Stopped Before there was matcha there was cacao🍫Stopped by the new @oolcacao to try some hot cacao. The cacao was smooth and perfectly bitter and the space was a vibe. 💚💋☕️
