5 Healthy Coffee Alternatives

06/11/18

I’ve never been a coffee drinker but many people – my clients included – have a love-hate relationship with the beverage. There’s no doubt it’s addictive and not just because of the caffeine. Many coffee-drinkers report that they’re just as tied to the experience of drinking coffee as they are the energy it gives them. Regardless of where you land… Read More

Brand Trust: What Does It Mean to Trust a Brand?

05/29/18

This post is sponsored by FitFluential LLC on behalf of NOW Foods. All opinions are my own. Before visiting NOW Foods in Chicago, Il., two weeks ago for an Influencer Immersion, I hadn’t thought much about the concept of brand trust. I think a lot about brand loyalty – I have certain brands that are my go-to, but I always… Read More

The Benefits of a Bar Method Workout

05/22/18

I was planning this post several weeks ago, before knowing that the franchised barre studio where I’ve been teaching for the past year and a half was closing. The New York City Soho studio closed its doors last night. (Update: I am now teaching at The Bar Method Noho!) I thought about holding back on posting this, but this seems… Read More

7 Ways to Create a Gentle Spring Detox at Home

05/14/18

Spring is a time of renewal and refreshment, it signals new beginnings and for many in the wellness world, that means embarking on a detox. You’re probably familiar with detoxing or “cleansing” in some way, but hold up: I’m not talking about anything drastic. Why not try a gentle spring detox? Why would you even want to detox? The answer… Read More

How I Practice the 90/10 ‘Diet’

05/03/18

Having been a Health Coach for eight years, one of the most common misconceptions is that people assume my diet is perfect. Not true! Sure, my diet is very clean and I stay on track with it fairly easily, but I don’t believe in restriction so there are indulgences here and there. The difference for me now as a Health… Read More

6 All-Natural Skin Care Essentials for Spring

04/27/18

The seasons are changing – so it (finally) seems- and warmer weather calls for a new skincare regimen to shed those winter layers. Just like you replace down and fur with silk and cotton, soups and stews with salads and smoothies, it’s time to trade thick moisturizers for lighter serums. I’ve rounded up a few of my all-natural skin care… Read More

Our Struggle with Infertility

04/23/18

Earlier this year when I returned to blogging after a hiatus, I mentioned there were some personal issues that had kept me away. It has always been difficult for me to open up fully in this space, but when I do, I know it’s something my readers appreciate and the fact that I wasn’t ready to share what I’m sharing… Read More

Napa Valley Travel Guide

04/10/18

Last week David and I traveled to Napa Valley to celebrate our three year anniversary. It wasn’t our first time to wine country. We’ve made as many as six trips there in our nine years together. Each time we go, we experience a different part of the region in a different way. After a half-dozen visits, we’ve just about learned… Read More

Four Simple Ways to Save and Spend Money Consciously

04/02/18

This is by no means a personal finance blog and I’m certainly not an expert on the topic, but many of you told me you’re looking for more conscious living tips from me and since I was once a reckless spender who took it upon myself to reform destructive spending habits, today I’m sharing some simple, everyday insight on how… Read More

Winter workouts hit different - physically and men Winter workouts hit different - physically and mentally - and here's why:

Boost your mood to prevent seasonal effectiveness disorder (SAD) aka "the Winter Blues"

Releases a fat burning hormone to avoid Winter weight gain

Gets your blood flowing to regular body temperature

Strengthens your immune system

While it may be harder to motivate in the Winter, maintaining a fitness routine will keep you consistent throughout the year, an important factor in seeing progress and results.

Pasta has a bad reputation for being high in carbs Pasta has a bad reputation for being high in carbs. First of all, there's absolutely nothing wrong with carbs or pasta, but did you know you can also get a good hit of protein with your pasta?

These are some of my favorite higher protein pasta alternatives:

1. Egg Fetttuccine - hear me out on this one. It doesn't offer more protein than a serving of regular white pasta at 8 grams but there's something that sets it apart for me and that's its denser, chewier texture. I choose this over white pasta often especially with tomato-based sauces. Bump up the protein content with chicken or shrimp which pair well with this.

2. Red Lentil Pasta - Even my daughter is a fan of this one. It clocks in at 25 grams of protein per serving and it's also high in fiber.

3. Yellow Pea Pasta - I love this one for a macaroni and cheese-style recipe (or a dairy-free version made with butternut squash). It has 17 grams of protein and is also fiber-rich.

There are many more high protein options like whole wheat, chickpea and black bean pasta, but these three are my faves. Have you tried any of these? If so, what did you think?
I stopped at @target for a few things and this swe I stopped at @target for a few things and this sweater caught my eye. I wondered if it was meant to be a "tacky Christmas sweater" for several minutes (my husband even asked me if we were going to an ugly Christmas sweater party when I put it on) while simultaneously imagining all the ways I would style it and I said F it and bought it anyway!

I love the non-traditional Fair Isle print. it's also soft and not itchy. This and everything else I'm wearing is linked on my @shop.ltk or go here: https://liketk.it/4pwvt (I swear, one day I will automate my links!)

After a long IG hiatus when I became a Mom, I felt After a long IG hiatus when I became a Mom, I felt lost here on this platform, but in March, I re-committed to it. I decided I could continue playing small so everyone would like me/ I wouldn't offend anyone or I could take up the space I was meant to so I could reach and help more people. Spending more time and energy here has had some incredible and unexpected returns including growing my audience, landing new brand partnerships with @adidas and @madewell to name a couple and making virtual connections with supportive women with whom I have things in common and who are also showing up here in a big way for their own reasons.

Putting yourself "out there" publicly on any platform be it social media, a newsletter or in-person events is never an easy thing to do. To my friends - both virtual and IRL - clients and colleagues who have been supportive of how I show up, it means the world to me. 💚💋✌🏻
