I used to be sick all the time. I was seriously that girl who got a cold that wouldn't go away and then when it finally did, two weeks later I'd be wiped out in bed with a case of the flu or something like it. No fun. Illness is now very rare for me and when I do get a cold, it is short-lived. I credit a strong immune system and since we still have about a month left of cold and flu season, I … [Read more...]

Heart Health Starts Early
Since I landed in New York City almost eight years ago, I've been volunteering with the New York Junior League (NYJL). Volunteering has always been a big part of my life and I love that the NYJL not only offers an opportunity to volunteer on a committee of my choosing but that I have had the opportunity to enhance my leadership skills, socialize and network with other female professionals in the … [Read more...]
A Peek Inside My Bathroom Cabinets
Last night while the rest of the world was watching the Oscars, I have to admit that I was involved in a little project of my own (with the Oscars on in the background, of course): We'll call it Operation De-Clutter. I've been feeling lately like certain parts of my apartment were falling victim to my habit of accumulating. So last night I took it upon myself to overhaul some of these spaces … [Read more...]
Five Reasons I Can’t Wait For Next Weekend: IIN Mega Conference
In less than a week I will have touched down in sunny Southern California to attend the Institute for Integrative Nutrition's Mega Conference. I've been selected as a VIP Blogger for the event so I'll be blogging live all weekend. But that's not the only reason I'm excited for this can't-miss event. Here's what's also getting my green juice flowing: The energy is contagious I've been to three … [Read more...]
Five for Friday: Sharon Gannon
One of my first memories of Sharon Gannon, co-founder of the Jivamukti Yoga School and Method, was in a Thursday night meditation class at the Union Square studio almost six years ago. I had never meditated before and although intimidated, I felt guided to "learn how." I struggled to sit still and my feet fell asleep but Sharon's calm and loving presence reassured me that I was in the right place. … [Read more...]

Brooklyn Bridge In Pictures
I live in Tribeca, just steps away from the Brooklyn Bridge. I often run over the bridge but I can count on one hand the number of times I've taken a leisurely stroll over it. One of those times was earlier this month when I wanted to slow down so I spent a cold Saturday afternoon alone with my camera exploring the bridge's architecture. How do you like to slow down? Here's what I saw that day … [Read more...]
Winterize Your Salad
Salads are one of my favorite ways to eat my greens, but in the dead of Winter a cold meal doesn't always appeal to me. Did you know that just like you winterize your car, you can make your salads more winter friendly too? Here are some of my tried and true tips: Add hearty whole grains - add a scoop of leftover brown rice, quinoa or millet Use warm foods - not all salads have to be … [Read more...]
President’s Day Weekend Dinner Party and the Fail-turned-Win Vegan Pumpkin Spice Trifle
I love 3-day weekends (which I DO oblige in even as an entrepreneur) but come Sunday night, I'm usually already wiped out and the thought of a third night in a row on the town is hard to swallow even though I want to take advantage of my extra day off. Fortunately, we had the perfect solution as our friends Karen and Iain had invited us over for a low key dinner party. Iain and Karen took care … [Read more...]
