Sakara Life offers a variety of meal plans and programs and products to meet different health and wellness needs, but all of their programs include a variety of fruits, vegetables, grains, and other plant-based ingredients.
The company has gained popularity in recent years for its emphasis on clean eating and has attracted customers looking for convenient and healthy meal options – including many celebrity fans!
How Does Sakara Life Work?
Sakara Life works like a lot of meal delivery services out there, with a few key differences. For one, it’s entirely plant-based and organic. Additionally, the meals all come completely ready to eat! Just heat (if you want) and serve – no cooking required.
If you’re just starting out with Sakara Life, here’s the basics of setting up your delivery service:
Subscription and Selection
To begin, customers typically subscribe to Sakara Life’s meal delivery service through their website. During the subscription process, customers may choose from different meal plans based on their preferences and dietary needs. The plans often include options for various durations, such as one-time purchases or weekly subscriptions.
Menu and Customization
Once subscribed, customers gain access to Sakara Life’s menu, which features a variety of creative and nutritionally balanced plant-based meals. Customers may have the option to customize their meals based on personal preferences or dietary restrictions. This level of customization can cater to individuals with specific tastes or nutritional requirements.
Delivery
Sakara Life delivers the selected meals directly to the customer’s doorstep. The meals are typically prepared in advance, allowing customers to enjoy the convenience of ready-to-eat, pre-portioned dishes. The delivery frequency depends on the chosen subscription plan, whether it’s a one-time order or a recurring weekly plan.
Ready-to-Eat Meals
Sakara Life’s meals are designed to be both delicious and nutritious. They often feature a diverse array of plant-based ingredients, including fruits, vegetables, grains, and superfoods. The company emphasizes providing nutrient-dense options to support overall health and wellness.
Supplements and Extras
Sakara Life also offers a variety of supplements, detox teas and some supplements that support their meal delivery services. You can add any of these to your weekly deliveries or purchase them separately.
Their Metabolism Super Powder is one of their most well-known and popular supplements, and is great for adding into smoothies or even mixing with warm milk like a healthier hot chocolate. They also offer a probiotic, protein + greens powder, daily multivitamin and even a prenatal supplement.
Where does Sakara Life ship?
Sakara Life currently delivers to all 50 states in the U.S. They do not ship to any international locations or U.S. territories.
Is Sakara Worth It for Healthy Meals?
Personally, eating healthy is a high priority for me. Sakara meals are 100 percent plant based and are created according to Sakara’s unique nutrition philosophy (similar to mine since the founders went to the same nutrition school I did). Furthermore, the philosophy is based on clinical research and nutrition science and is best summed up by Sakara’s Nutrition Pillars which form the backbone of how every Sakara meal is created.
Sakara Nutrition Pillars
Eat Your Water // Eating water-rich foods keeps your whole body hydrated and does it for longer beyond drinking the recommended 8 glasses of water.
Leafy Greens // Simply put, leafy greens are the most essential for whole body health, because they help build a healthy immune system, support weight loss and increase energy. On Sakara, you get a minimum of 6 cups of leafy greens per day!
Sulfur-Rich Vegetables // Believe it or not, sulfur-rich vegetables like cauliflower and cabbage are antioxidant-rich and good detoxifiers. All Sakara meals include one sulfurous veggie per meal.
Healthy Fats // Healthy fat helps burn fat and keeps you feeling satiated. Sakara uses high-quality fats, including organic and cold-pressed oils.
Eat The Rainbow & Nutrient Diversity //All plants have a unique nutritional profile that deliver a large number of nutrients to your body. A typical day on Sakara delivers more than 70 plant species to your plate!
Plant Protein // Sakara meals are rich in clean plant protein because your body needs it to build strong, lean muscles. You’ll find around 50 grams of plant protein in a day of Sakara meals.
Count Nutrients, Not Calories // Food is more than just its calorie count. The type of food, its nutrient profile, its fiber content and your own microbiome determine how you’ll assimilate, absorb and release calories.
Body Intelligence // Being in tune with your body informs the choices you make for it thus impacting your overall health. When you flood your body with Sakara’s nutrient-dense food and learn to think positive thoughts, you enhance your communication pathways to create harmony in body, mind and spirit.

Top Benefits of Sakara Life Meal Delivery
Convenience
I love the feeling of a fully-stocked fridge with healthy meals that are ready to go. In a perfect world, I would buy all the ingredients and meal prep myself, but with a toddler and a hectic schedule, that’s not realistic for me. And honestly, it’s not the norm for most of us these days, because life is busier than we’ve been used to.
Kids or no kids, now that life is picking back up again, time is of the essence. With Sakara, you get ready-to-eat, seasonal meals packed full of fresh, organic produce. Stack the meals in your fridge and rest assured you have healthy meals ready to eat for the week. Rest assured that all the packaging is 100 percent recyclable too.
Flexibility
When I think of answering the question, “Is Sakara worth it?,” Sakara’s flexibility is truly what comes to mind the most. You can customize it to fit any need, schedule or budget. This, to me, is what makes Sakara worth it.
Does this sound like you?
Not ready to commit to weekly Sakara meal delivery? You can try it once or order a subscription. Or, you don’t want three meals per day five days a week? You can select 3 days/week or two or four. Do what works for you!
Do you enjoy dinner with your family during the week? Opt in for breakfast and lunch only. Or, maybe you don’t like sweet potato. You can remove it from your meals. Perhaps you love the Chia Waffles for breakfast – you can have them every day of the week! There’s no end to how you can customize your Sakara meals. (*Customization is subject to Sakara’s restrictions).
Cost
One of the main concerns people have is the higher price tag on Sakara. Let’s not beat around the bush, I consider Sakara a luxury product based on the price tag alone. A full week of meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) can run you around $400, a weekly subscription is slightly less (of course, you save 20% with my Sakara discount code MARISSAVSAKARA).
In addition to using my discount code, there are other ways to save on Sakara – you can opt for fewer meals or fewer days of the week which offers more flexibility on the price.
I also like to consider its worth outside of the monetary spend. Does it save me time grocery shopping? You bet. Does it buy me more time with my family and at work by keeping me out of the kitchen cooking and meal prepping? Oh yes! And while it may be slightly more than I spend on groceries in a typical week, it most definitely saves me money on the takeout, delivery and restaurant meal bills I would rack up when I don’t feel like cooking or just plain run out of time in the day. Needless to say, it’s also much healthier than those options too.
Cancel Any Time
One good thing about Sakara meal delivery is that it’s easy to cancel or change your subscription. If you start using Sakara and then need to take a break or decide it’s not for you, that’s ok!
You can cancel any meal delivery as long as it’s done by the week prior to its scheduled drop-off. This goes for subscriptions, too. While you can’t cancel your first week of meals on a subscription, any subsequent weeks can be canceled.
Even better? You can cancel or change your subscription by logging into your account – no need to call or send an email before making a change.
Is Sakara Worth It? Another Option
Choose from 1-week programs priced starting at $460 or opt for 4 weeks on any of the above programs.
These systems are curated to address some of the most common health concerns in Sakara’s signature food-is-medicine way. Each one includes Sakara’s plant-rich meals, supplements, a guide book written by Sakara’s in-house Nutritionist and access to Sakara’s team of Wellness Coaches for additional support.
The systems include Sakara’s signature meals + add-on wellness essentials designed to support your goals. The 7-day systems are a great way to get a taste of Sakara and the many health benefits of living the Sakara Life.
Choose from the following Sakara Systems:
- Metabolism Reset
- Frest Start Cleanse
- Gut Health Reboot
- Performance System
You also get 20% off this option with my discount code, MARISSAVSAKARA.
A final option is Sakara’s Level II Detox.
Once you’ve been living the Sakara Life for awhile, you’re ready for Level II!
The Sakara Level II Detox is a deeper detox that will not only give your body a reset, but can also potentially uncover food sensitivities. For this, you’ll need to clear your schedule for five full days to completely commit to your health. You’ll also need to be prepared to eliminate intense exercise, caffeine and alcohol for that timeframe. Sound doable? You’re ready for Level II!
Final Verdict: Is Sakara Life Worth the Cost?
This is, of course, a very personal decision, so I’m just sharing from my experience using Sakara Life meals.
Here’s my take: If you’re looking for a lifestyle, not a diet, and you’re interested not just in a meal delivery service but a wellness lifestyle that:
- delivers holistically-minded programs
- supports a variety of wellness goals in a sustainable way
- builds on its own principles for long-term growth and whole-body wellness…
…then Sakara is 100% worth it!

Glad it was helpful!

Hi! You mentioned you can customize as many meals or opt to have the same breakfast waffles everyday. However Sakara says you can only sub 2-3 meals out?
Marissa says
They may have changed that. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. I will update.
