Good Hair Day

03/07/16

good hair day - living proof at Ulta

This good hair day post was sponsored by Ulta as part of a Blog Blast Activation for Influence Central.  I received complimentary products to facilitate my review.

In my 20s, a good hair day was a part of life. In my 30s, it seems, a good hair day is earned like a badge of honor for taking care of myself with plenty of sleep, a healthy diet and the right hair care. In my 20s, I tortured my hair in the name of beauty without much noticeable damage. In my 30s, every move I make with my hair makes a difference. Aging hair gets stripped of its natural shine with heat, color processing and just plain time.

I refuse to accept dull, lifeless hair and luckily, I don’t have to!

Enjoying healthy, gorgeous hair just like from my youth and protecting its shine is as simple as using the right products that address my hair’s current needs.

The Living Proof Timeless collection is powered by a fortifying complex comprised of amino acids that strengthen hair strands, ceramide-like lipids that seal the cuticle to keep it smooth and proteins that control moisture to keep hair strong and cleaner longer.

Lest you feel reluctant to use anything for women of a certain age, rest assured that Living Proof Timeless isn’t that. It uses a phased approach to address age-related changes as they happen so just like your favorite LBD (little black dress), your hair, too, can be timeless.

@isshikimatcha is a gem and I'm so glad I found it @isshikimatcha is a gem and I'm so glad I found it. Loved the vibe, the matcha was smooth, the staff was friendly and the line was nonexistent. Someone somewhere recommended the strawberry matcha and ordering it was my only regret because it was a thick and clumpy strawberry jam which isn't what I like in a strawberry matcha. For that reason alone, I took off 2 stars for an 8/10 but I will go back to try a regular matcha latte. ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’‹๐Ÿต

I was in the West Village for an event and hadn't had my matcha fix yet. I passed Aoko and made a mental note.

Then I proceeded to pass many more matcha cafes with long lines.

Aoko didn't have a line and it seemed authentic to me. Also, I recalled hearing good things.

The vibe was a little sterile. You order off a screen and there's a huge selection of matcha drinks and ice cream. Then wait for your number to be called.

I chose the Coconut Matcha Cloud. There was no description on the screen and the actual drink looked nothing like the photo.

It was a cloud of whipped matcha floating on top of coconut water with tapioca-like shapes on the bottom.

My expectations were low. But I ended up being pleasantly surprised. Once the whipped matcha mixed with the coconut water, it was incredibly creamy and I could tell the matcha was high quality. 8.5/10. I'll be back to try the regular matcha latte. ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’‹๐Ÿต
