I woke up bright and early on Saturday ready to enjoy a morning of educational sessions that would help me develop as a blogger but my feet had other plans.
I had spent Thursday walking around the city attending a marathon of meetings for work in a pair of flats. By the end of the day my feet felt tired but when I looked down I saw massive blisters. Every woman has had a blister or two in her life so I thought little of it and changed my shoes.
By Saturday, the blisters were a different story. My feet were swollen and throbbing with pain. Not even my running shoes were a suitable solution but I put on a smile, donned my pearls and wobbled in my best tourist getup to the sessions I had planned to attend: Food Blogging Guide to Success (Whatever That Is!) and Star of the Show – Video Blogging.
The sessions were set up as panels which kept them interesting and interactive. I also liked that they didn’t drag to long and kept my attention. Each hour was jam-packed with information. Here some tips I took away:

- Set aside a specific time of day to blog
- Involve the people you care about
- Read other blogs, even those that are not about food and guest post on them
- Take time away from the computer and connect with people
- Make your blog personal
- Add thoughtful comments on other blogs you read
- Photos matter
- Continue to learn and challenge yourself
- Posts don’t have to be epic
- Reach new audiences
