Love it or hate it, this was the first weekend that actually felt like Fall. My original plans for this weekend were canceled on Thursday so with nothing on the calendar, we took advantage of our down time to continue with our household organizing projects. I know it seems like we’re always doing this, because we are. I’ve been on a year-long quest to minimize our belongings and maximize our space and it feels great!
Saturday started with brunch at a neighborhood spot, Anisette, and a spin class at Peloton.
In the afternoon, I had a hit of inspiration to pull out my slow cooker and make lentil soup. I wanted to get rid of some of the ingredients in my fridge and cupboard so this was the perfect way to do that. I used this recipe.
On Saturday night, we braved the cold and wind to go downtown to check out a brand new retro-Cuban bar BlackTail. David practically had to twist my arm to go, but I’m so glad we did. The food and drinks were perfection and of course I loved the vegetable bouquet.!
Sunday was more organizing, The Girl on the Train (loved the book and the movie!) and a cozy home-cooked dinner of miso baked salmon, roasted carrots and steamed broccoli. I took the opportunity to bake some sweet potatoes and steam more broccoli than we needed for dinner in the name of meal prep for the week.
How was your weekend? Did the Fall-like weather inspire you to do any baking or cooking?

Your food pics look delicious, but I REALLY want to see/read The Girl on the Train! I can’t decide if I want to read the book or just watch the movie. What do you recommend?

I’m a little jealous of the fall weather. Here we are just starting to cool down.

Our fall-like weather was amazing this weekend! A bit chilly in the morning (well, it is almost November!), but lots of sunshine and pleasant temps. Lots of pretty color everywhere…and falling leaves….
