We all have good days and bad ones. But then there are those days that seem particularly perfect.
Today was one of those days.
Nothing special or different about it.
I just loved it.
It started with a five mile run. This week marked the beginning of my training for the More/Fitness Half Marathon. I’m following a training plan that Jess put together for me and I’m confident that I’ll be prepared to meet my goals come race day. The cold weather (so far) hasn’t put a damper on my enthusiasm but my music needed a refresh before this morning’s chilly run. Instead of downloading new music, I dipped into my archives and created a play list of old school tunes I love which gave me the motivation I needed. The sun was shining and it was a gorgeous day for a run as evidenced by the
droves of runners out.
After my run David andI had a healthy lunch at The Butcher’s Daughter. We’ve been wanting to try it but mixed reviews had me second-guessing our decision to go. I’m so glad we did because the food was delightful and the atmosphere was chill. I’ll be posting separately about this place so for now let’s just say we’ll be back.
Finally, I had a spa date with Karen who generously shared her Great Jones Spa gift certificate with me. Although the spa was a little too crowded for us, we were both really happy with our deep tissue massages.
My masseuse happened to be a runner herself and coincidentally used to work for New York Road Runners.
She knew exactly where to apply pressure to make my massage one of the best I’ve ever had.
Today my heart was full.
These days I have more days like this than not. It’s a stark contrast from this time only a year ago when Sundays gave me anxiety and I felt stuck in my corporate job.
It’s been a long journey full of both big and small changes and many shifts in perspective.
I am blessed.

Was your massage therapist, Sarah by chance?
So glad you had an amazing day! I could use a massage myself!
