Four years ago to the date, I sat in a corporate cubicle feeling stifled, uninspired and unhappy. I dreamed of something more fulfilling but until I found IIN and enrolled, I didn’t know what I could do to transform my passion for health and wellness into a career. Barely able to voice my opinion on a conference call or in a meeting, I never dreamed I could find my voice as a wellness coach.
When I finally left my corporate job last summer, I let go of fear and fully embraced my place in this world.
As an Integrative Nutrition graduate, I look forward to IIN’s live Spring conference every year. Each conference seems to outdo the last and this year’s topped all others.
It was special for me because I had a place on stage and the opportunity to speak to thousands of people, the biggest audience I’ve ever had.
I literally never, ever imagined this would be me.
Listening to the weekend’s highly sought after speakers like Danielle LaPorte, Candice Kumai, Gabrielle Bernstein, Fabienne Frederickson and Dr. Frank Lipman, I thought about what the past four years have brought and two themes resonated:
1. Authenticity
2. Hard Work
Authenticity
I tend more toward introversion, but spent most of my life being ashamed of it. I’m from a family of extroverts and the job I had certainly required a more extroverted type. At IIN I finally recognized this trait in myself and learned to accept and embrace it. Expressing myself through my business and brand has not only been a creative exercise but the ultimate expression of self love.
“You will never fully know just how you are here to be of service just by being who you are.” — Fabienne Fredrickson
When I get a note of of gratitude from clients and non-clients, it’s more fulfilling to me than any raise or praise I’ve ever received in a corporate job.
This is how I know I’ve found my calling.
Hard Work
“You have to want what you want with all of you.” — Danielle LaPorte
This journey – especially the past eight months since leaving the corporate world, hasn’t been without hard work. A lot of it. Most days I work longer hours than I ever have, but it doesn’t feel like work. It’s passion. It’s in my heart. And my soul. I do it because I love it. And because I want to have an impact more than anything else in the world.
“When you’re interested you do what’s convenient. When you’re committed, you do whatever it takes.” — Fabienne Fredrickson
But it’s not all serious. There were dance parties, jokes galore and the adorable Candice Kumai who knows how to make eating healthy fun and sexy.
IIN’s live conferences have given me more opportunities than I ever thought I’d have from speaking to traveling to meeting new friends and forging deeper relationships with old friends. Every year, I leave inspired, armed with the latest and greatest nutrition information and ready to take my business to a new level.
I can’t count the number of emails I’ve received lately from women and men with stories like mine who want to transform their lives and use them to inspire health and happiness in the world.
If you’re ready to enroll at IIN and you do so by Friday, March 8, you’ll receive exclusive access to a rare, live info session with IIN speaker, nutrition expert and raw food enthusiast, David Wolfe. On this call, David will share:
- his personal story of how food transformed his life
- the value of eating living food
- why nutrition is the core of holistic health
At last year’s live conference, David made a superfood smoothie on stage. Watch this video to see what you’re in for:
