After the morning blogger sessions, I hobbled over to the Metreon with my boyfriend in tow for the Taste Pavilion. I was super hungry but and excited to get tasting. The hunt for healthy was on!
First stop was Frog Hollow. These pears were so sweet and luscious. Best I’ve ever had! And their dried peaches were pretty awesome too … yum.
The Sweets Life demoed her Cranberry Bruschetta at the Electrolux stand.

Another one of my favorites, I was pleasantly surprised by the Fresh Express salad which I can’t wait to try at home: Sierra Crisp Herb Salad with Toasted Quinoa and Smoked Pecans. The seasonal flavors of sweet cranberries and smoked pecans make this one for the Thanksgiving dinner table.
I always love raw, organic honey. This one was noteworthy but I didn’t catch the name of it :(. If anyone knows, leave it in my comments!
I’m not a fan of pickles, but Pick-A-Peck Pickles pickled green beens, carrots, beets and asparagus were crispy and zingy. Great for a snack, a salad or as appetizers!
We Olive‘s Meyer Lemon infused olive oil was both rich and refreshing at the same time. I love using plaion olive oil on salad so I would use this by itself as a salad dressing.
The top taste of the day was definitely the make-your-own fish taco booth with Wild Alaska Seafood. I was on the fence at first but as soon as I figured out that the fish was sustainable and wild caught, I was sold. I had saved some room (more on how to survive a tasting tomorrow) so I was ready for the substantial taco.
The booth had imaginative toppings like chopped mango and pineapple and pickled cucumbers and radishes. I had some of everything including crispy cabbage, fresh chopped tomoato salsa, creamy guacamole and cilantro. Skipped the cheese – these babies didn’t need it! If there was a contest for the prettiest concoction, I think mine would have won!
I seriously waited in line for 20 minutes for this! And so very with the wait 🙂
No tasting would be complete without a sweet finish. My top picks were the Ghirardelli S’mores and Mission Minis cupcakes made a second appearance with even more flavors – Red Velvet, Chocolate, Toasted Coconut and even Pink Lemonade!
I had survived the tasting but my blistered feet barely made it through. There was certainly no squeezing them into high heels so I had to skip the evening’s Gala Dinner (tear) …
Tomorrow I’ll recap how to comfortably make it through a tasting (sore feet aside).
