As a FitFluential Ambassador, I’ve been selected to participate in Under Armour’s What’s Beautiful Campaign. This post is sponsored by Under Armour and FitFluential. What’s Beautiful is a competition to redefine the female athlete. To me, that means choosing foods that nourish, make me strong and give me energy.
What is healthy eating? How do you eat for energy? Before working with me, so many of my clients are under the impression that one cookie or a few too many margaritas is cause for ruin. Let me tell you a little secret. It’s not.
We make progress, not perfection.
There’s no need to fly off the rails or beat yourself up for an indulgence here and there. Making healthy choices is a mindset and has nothing to do with willpower. I explain in this video.
Here’s where you come in:
1. Anyone can join in on this campaign and I’d love to have you sign up, declare a goal and create your page.
Click here to do that now.
2. Follow me so we can support each other. I’ll follow you back.
Find my page here.
3. Everyone competes as individuals but you can join as many teams as you’d like to help you reach your goals.
Join my Team, Eat for Energy!
Under Armour provides challenge prompts to keep you going and motivated along the way. Creating a video like the one I did here is the first challenge so get started!
If you’ve joined the campaign, leave a comment here, share your goal with me and leave a link to your page so we can all follow and support each other!
There are cool prizes involved for the winners like a retreat to Costa Rica with Under Armour so give this your ALL!

This is great Marissa! I think you will help so many people with this campaign! We cannot be perfect, I have learned that many times through my running. As much as I try to control everything, and do all the little things to make myself the best I can be on race day, I can never control the weather or having a bad day! We just have to accept that we are not perfect, and we all can only do what we can with what we are given!
I think you hit right on the marker when you said people fall off the rails, when friends ask me for a training plan, and they miss a day, they think all is lost and they should just give up now, but you are right, STICK WITH IT 🙂 Love the video 🙂

I love the idea of redefining the female athlete. I am a runner and have been for most of my life. My daughter is a soccer player and a runner. She is so fit and strong, and eats so much better than I did at her age. She’s very conscious of the types of foods she eats and how healthy her choices are. As you said, it’s a mindset!
Marissa says
I know, Michelle. I didn’t used to eat very well either when playing sports, but we know so much more about food and nutrition now that it’s hard to justify not. With kids, it’s so important to set a good example!

I love the whole “redefine the female athlete” concept. I HATE when women exercise or change their eating habits just to be skinny skinny skinny. Women. What is wrong with you!!! You are killing yourselves under the same concepts you could use to make yourself healthy!!
Okay, going to think of a goal and come back at ya. Thanks!
Marissa says
Yes, Denise, join in the challenge for sure! I’m a big believer in eating for fuel and nourishment. No starvation diets!

This looks like a fantastic campaign! Your video wouldn’t load for me. Eating for energy is something that I am just learning about, trying to figure out what makes me feel sluggish vs. what makes me feel great is one of my daily tasks!

It has been fun! The video seems to be working so maybe try it again? Knowing which foods fuel you can be like a science experiment but once you know, your life is forever changed!
