Love is in the air and I’m not referring to Valentine’s Day.
It’s these two gems that have my heart. So much so I can’t stop making them.
For blogging purposes, I decided this was a good thing because a) It’s February, a cherry and chocolate kind of month and b) it feels like ages since I’ve posted a recipe here.
Now that the justification is out of the way, here’s the cherry with the chocolate on top.
Cherry Chocolate Smoothie
1 cup frozen cherries
Handful of vegan or dark chocolate chocolate chips or 1-2 Tbsps. cocoa powder
1 Tbsp. cashew butter
1 cup ice
1/2 cup almond milk
1/2 cup coconut water
1/2 tsp. Maca powder (optional)
Blend until smooth, adding more liquid as needed.
Want it more filling? Less chocolate? No problem!
Add half a frozen banana to the blender, omit the chocolate and top the finished product with some granola and a few chocolate chips like this:
Cherry “Ice Cream”
You’ve probably heard of banana “ice cream” made with frozen bananas – this is the same thing made with frozen cherries.
1 cup + of frozen cherries
1/2 frozen banana
Sprinkle of vegan or dark chocolate chips
Put the banana and cherries in your food processor (you can use a high-speed blender too for this but you’ll need to scrape it out).
Blend until soft. Sprinkle with vegan chocolate chips.
