5 Ways to One-Up Your Health

03/27/17

One up your health | Nature Made Vitamin C | water with lemon |Marissa Vicario

This post was sponsored by Nature Made as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central and all opinions expressed in my post are my own.

As much as I try to manage my work and personal life and maintain some kind of organized sanity, the truth is I tend to take too much on. Take the current state of affairs: I’m training to become a Bar Method Instructor, working on a new brand and web site, coordinating local and corporate speaking engagements and managing my fertility. It’s a lot. Needless to say, my immune system is always the first thing that suffers when I have too much on my plate.

This is why, regardless of how much I have going on, I always put my health first. Being a Health Coach, is my motivation to walk my talk and take the very best care of myself, but like I always tell my clients, that doesn’t have to mean grandiose efforts. When it comes to maintaining health, every step counts, even the small ones.

So when life throws too much your way, these are a few small ways to maintain a balanced, healthy lifestyle and one-up your health:

One up your health | Nature Made Vitamin C | Marissa Vicario

One // Give yourself an extra hour of sleep. I know when you have a million things going on, sleep is the last thing on your mind, but give yourself that gift. You’ll feel more refreshed and ready to tackle your to-do list after a good night of sleep.

Two // Cut the caffeine, sugar and alcohol. I know, these can be some of our favorite coping tools, but don’t let them become that. By feeding your body these things, you’re taxing your immune system and giving it a false sense of energy it doesn’t already have. Instead, fuel up on protein and greens for the energy and focus you need.

Three // Take a daily supplement. For me, a daily Nature Made Vitamin C supplement helps support my immune system by helping my body to absorb iron efficiently and neutralizing free radicals. Nature Madeยฎ Vitamins are #1 Pharmacist so I know I can trust their products and like me, they believe in doing that one extra thing everyday to improve your wellness. Small actions build on each other to create lasting change.

Four // Meditate. Ten minutes of daily meditation – even if you think you don’t have the time for it – will turn your day around. Make it a regular habit and you’ll sail through busy days unscathed by the frenzy you may often feel.

Five // Get some fresh air. There are many days when I’m tempted to stay chained to my desk, but no matter what, I get myself outside. The fresh air helps oxygen circulate to my brain, gives me a mental break and inspires fresh ideas and new attitudes. It also adds a little extra bit of exercise to my tally.

Motivation is everything when you want to stay healthy.  Nature Made and Womenโ€™s and Menโ€™s Health are hosting Facebook promotions through April 9, where you and your friends can get involved with a call-to-action each week which gives you a chance to win prizes from Blue Apron, Lululemon, Sephora, FitBit and NatureBox. enter for a chance to win and your friends can win weekly prizes that motivate you to stay healthy.

You can also enter to win a grand prize spa vacation which includes a 4-day/3-night trip for two to the Red Mountain Resort in Ivans, UT. Enter by visiting https://www.naturemade.com/oneup and complete registration form.
