Chocolate lovers take heed! My favorite way to enjoy chocolate lately is not in cupcake form. I’m loving raw cacao nibs which are as crunchy and satisfying as they are nutritious. Cacao is the source of all choocalte and cocoa but in a pre-processed form so it maintains all the antioxidants and minerals that uphold the claim that dark chocolate is healthy. Raw cacao is dark chooclate in its healthiest form.
Cacao nibs are a staple in my kitchen and I use them in any way imaginable. I blend them into smoothies and sprinkle them on granola. Added to yogurt or any frozen dairy or non-dairy dessert, they perk up an afternoon snack or after-dinner indulgence.
Alone, they have a slightly bitter taste which perfectly balances the sweet foods they complement so well. Find them in the raw foods section of your health food store.
Have you ever tried cacao nibs? How do you like to eat them?

Thank you for sharing this, Dee! I would love to try it, it sounds so yummy! I don't eat much sugar so this sounds like a great alternative when I want something a little sweet.

Marissa, I love you have found a way to incorporate chocolate into all you eat :-). I love it, but I have a good one for your to try next…Living Fuels CocoChia. It is a mix of raw organic coconut and raw organic chia seeds. All you need is a little shot glass full, and it will give you that sweet tooth fix :-). I love it on PinkBerry Original yogurt.
