Beyond a healthy diet and exercise, your home environment contributes to overall well-being. Whether your papers are filed, your workspace is inspiring, your air quality is in check or your closet is organized will impact how you feel about yourself.
When I moved out of my studio apartment last year and in with my boyfriend, I gained a massive walk-in closet and felt as if all my ongoing wardrobe troubles (mainly lack of space for all my clothes) would be solved. In fact they got worse. Every morning as I entered the abyss that was my closet, a sea of clothes descended on me overwhelming me with options yet never quite providing the right outfit.
Some “before” photos:
In my coaching practice I need to feel confident and look polished but I was missing the bullseye.
I called in Lani Rosenstock Inlander, founder and chief stylist of Real Life Style to help me make sense of my wardrobe. She said I had “a lot of frosting and no cake” – watch the video to find out what she means!

Step 1: Editing my wardrobe – figuring out which pieces stayed and which had to go.
Step 2: Purchasing the missing basics to supplement what I already had
Step 3: Organizing the closet
Step 4: Choosing my looks
Step 5: The “Look Book”
I now feel better than ever and I have this trusty little go-to guide of looks I keep in my closet as a reference guide.
Now when I get dressed, I feel beautiful, sexy and confident. I know that my clothes look good on me and reflect my own unique sense of style.
Ahhhh … just another day in the world of self love!
Here are some of my favorite “looks” from yesterday’s session.
