Being Successful: It’s All About the Hustle

11/25/13

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from living in NYC and starting my own business, it’s that you gotta hustle to get the reward. I’ve been so fortunate to meet many other female entrepreneurs who “get it”, including my friend, Nicole, the founder of TasteDaily. Sign up for her ridiculously awesome emails for bold women and then check out her fresh take on “the hustle” right here as a guest on Where I Need to Be.

Whether you’re building a business or a healthy lifestyle, it’s all about the follow through. The commitment. The time invested.

To learn what works, we test and iterate. Again and again.

It can be terrifying to miss the mark, but giving yourself the space to TRY is liberating.

When you grant yourself the freedom to fail and learn from it, you enter the learning zone. The learning zone is that sweet spot of stretching just outside your comfort zone, right before you extend too far and hit the panic zone.

Figure skaters are a great example. The main difference between high-level skaters and sub-elite skaters can be seen in their practice. Skaters who practiced jumps they couldn’t do spent lots of time falling down. These difficult jumps, however, are the kind that win Olympic medals.

It takes guts and focus in one specific area.

Keep a reminder front and center for yourself. This is one of my favorites.

The “Hustle” wall print celebrates women everywhere who are putting in the hours.

You’re waking up early to workout, prepping healthy food for the week on Sunday, and leading by example.

Put in the hours. Ridiculously awesome things come to women who hustle.

What does hustle mean to you? Where do you want to see results?

Nicole D'AlonzoNicole D’Alonzo, Founding Editor of TASTEdaily just launched a collection of inspirational wall prints. See the “Hustle” print here.

Both were family/kid-friendly and brought us out to the most stunning beaches: Elizabeth A. Morton National Wildlife Refuge (Sag Harbor) and Shadmoor State Park (Montauk) 💚💋🥾
