Lately, life has been crazy hectic. Between marathon training, coaching clients, working on new projects for Marissa’s Well-being and Health and of course, wedding planning, some days fly by so quickly I barely know what happened.
I’m constantly re-evaluating how I structure my days and one of the reasons I love David so much is because while I would have my nose to the grindstone 24 hours a day, he reminds me to slow down and make time to play — and eat!
One of our favorite ways to create an inexpensive and impromptu date night is to take a casual stroll or spin on Citibike around the neighborhood after dinner.
Our Summer nights are numbered and this has been a perfect way to enjoy the beautiful weather, clear our heads from the workday and stimulate digestion.
Besides, check out that picture-perfect sunset we caught last week while sipping a spontaneous glass of post-dinner rose at our new favorite floating bar, Grand Banks.
These are the moments I treasure more than any date night at an expensive restaurant. It’s why I’d rather post two blogs per week instead of five. Sometimes, it’s difficult in the moment to trade pulling myself away from banging out another email, lacing up a pair of shoes and leaving the comfort of my apartment for a walk outside, but when my head hits that pillow at night, I’m always glad I did.
How do you unwind and slow down during a busy week?
