Is it Monday already? I truly don’t know where this weekend went. I’ve actually been swamped with working on something that I can’t talk about quite yet, so I’ll stick to what I did with the remainder of the weekend, which isn’t as exciting (sorry!).
New York City finally got hit with winter late last week and this weekend so after opting to stay in and hibernate on Friday, David and I ventured out Saturday night to try a new SoHo restaurant called Miss Paradis. The concept is vegetarian/pescatarian, which is really refreshing given my dietary preferences and they were also able to accommodate many of my restrictions.
The restaurant has a really unique interior with a casual vibe. Large windows make it bright and airy. There are standard tables but also a large marble bar that runs the length of the restaurant, which was where we sat. We shared a number of small plates and liked everything we tried. Eddie, the manager, took phenomenal care of us, so we’ll definitely be back for brunch in the coming weeks.
After dinner, we popped down to Chinatown to try the exotic, herbal cocktails at Apotheke.
In an attempt to stay warm and dry from the freezing rain and sleet that hit the city, we opted to see Lion on Sunday. It’s the true story of a boy from a small Indian Village who gets separated from his family hundreds of miles away in Calcutta and ends up in an orphanage. He gets adopted by an Australian family and 25 years later sets out to find his birth mother. I was in tears the entire time. Go see it!
Now you. How was your weekend? What are you looking forward to most this week?
