The weekend already feels like it’s long gone, but it’s worth re-visiting because, we finally – finally! – had what I truly think was our warmest day of the year. Saturday felt like Summer and it was glorious!
After co-teaching a class at the Bar Method on Friday afternoon, I arrived home to a glass of rose and some appetizers David put together before we left to see Ali Wong, stand-up comic and star of the Netflix special Baby Cobra. Ali was HILARIOUS! She is dainty and feminine which makes her irreverent jokes even funnier. We laughed the entire hour. If you have the chance to see her on tour and you like off-color humor, go!
On Saturday, more Bar Method for me – teaching and taking class – after which I treated myself to an Iced Ginger Turmeric Matcha Latte from Cha Cha Matcha. THE BEST! While I sipped my drink, I walked to The West Village to meet David for a late brunch at Cafe Clover. This place truly wins my vote for best brunch in the city.
It doesn’t look it, but this meal is entirely plant-based. I sipped on a Garden Cocktail, green juice with cucumber vodka, at the bar while I waited for David. He ordered the Beet and Mushroom Burger and while my usual brunch order involves eggs, I went decided to go with the Chickpea Flour Sweet Potato Waffles speckled with kale. It was seriously hard to choose since everything on the menu is veggie-rich, superfood-loaded and gluten-free friendly.
Sunday was more Bar Method, a quick acai bowl at Two Hands and then off to do some shopping at Bloomingdale’s.
It was a full weekend, but as always it wasn’t long enough.
