I eat a fairly clean diet, so the weekends are my chance to be a little adventurous with food usually by trying a new restaurant or healthy-ish food trend. This weekend, I decided I wanted a bagel.
Since I went gluten-free a year ago, I haven’t had a bagel, so I did a little research and decided that I would give Thompson Square Bagels a try. I ordered a plain gluten-free bagel with tofu veggie cream cheese, which used to be my go-to in my 20’s. I wasn’t impressed with the taste or consistency, so I guess my expectations were a little too high for something that isn’t meant to be gluten-free, but at least I took care of that bagel craving.
The rest of the weekend I was immersed in barre teacher training. This week, I’m preparing to co-teach a portion of class, which has me nervous and excited. My co-trainees and I have all been working so hard, but you can never quite feel ready to do something so far out of your comfort zone.
There was some fun. Just a little. On Sunday I celebrated my close friend’s birthday at The Smith.
For me, it was the perfect weekend – a lot of productivity and a little fun.
