My immediate family – except for my dad – is all women. I have two sisters and a niece and even our dog was a girl! For the longest time we said we wouldn’t know what to do with a boy in our family but on Saturday night we found out we are getting the perfect addition to our female-dominated family – a baby BOY!
My youngest sister is due in July and at their gender reveal party on Saturday, she and her husband surprised us all with their announcement.
I had guessed it was a boy from the second she told me she was pregnant, but to actually have confirmation that I will have my first nephew has me full of excitement.
One of my sister’s friends summed it up perfectly when she said, “I hope he likes pink and leopard print!”
I can’t wait to meet my nephew, Reed, in July!
My trip home to Louisville was quick so I could make it back to New York City for Valentine’s Day with my husband. We’re not big fans of the holiday but every year my husband makes his famous fish pie and I wouldn’t miss it for anything. My sprint through the Atlanta airport, a sweat-soaked cashmere sweater and the stress of a near-missed connection was worth it to come home to this.
