Be In Control of Your Birth Control

08/08/12

Last week marked the beginning of a process that will give millions of US women access to contraception without a co-pay. The media has essentially tagged the Patient Protection and Affordability Act as “free birth control.” This is momentous for women and it has certainly been a long time coming. As a single woman in my early 20’s, birth control… Read More

Tri Training Weeks 3 & 4: Mind Over Matter

08/06/12

I’m at the halfway point and the mantra I’ve been tied to for the past two weeks has been “mind over matter.” I’ve encountered more hot, humid training days than pleasant ones and when my first instinct is to skip a workout or cut one short, I remind myself that most things worth working for require more mental strength than… Read More

Make It Happen {why I left my corporate job}

08/01/12

Allow me to date myself and say that I’ve been out of college and working in the real world for 10 years. In all that time, yesterday was by far one of the most gratifying days of work I’ve ever had.  I spent the day on my feet for eight hours in heels, chopping fruit and vegetables under a bright… Read More

Week 2 Training Plan: Monday – Strength Tuesday – 30 minute Bike + 15 minute Run Wednesday – 15 minute Swim + 30 minute Run Thursday – 30 minute Run + Strength Friday – Rest Saturday – 35 minute… Read More

My friends are incredible people and one day it dawned on me that many of them are doing extraordinary things that I want to tell the world about! I’m excited to kick off the Extraordinary People series with one of my nearest and dearest friends, Gene Gurkoff. Gene and I go way back to when we first met as freshmen… Read More

Tri Training Week 1: Things Don’t Always Go As Planned

07/16/12

At the beginning of last week, not only did I have a solid triathlon training plan in place, but I also had a stocked fridge. No sooner did I get a quick reminder that things don’t always go as planned. Week 1 Training Plan: Monday – Strength Tuesday – 30 min run Wednesday – Strength + 45 minute Bike Thursday… Read More

Tri, Tri Again

07/12/12

Sometimes life is about stepping outside of comfort zones. Reward often comes from feeling the fear and doing it anyway. Other times, it’s about having a do-over. This post is about the do-overs. I’m big on intention-setting and work with my clients to set intentions at the start of every year. Last December, I created a list of my own…. Read More

Diary of a Total Reset Girl: Adriana

07/10/12

Meet Adriana. Before the Total Reset Plan she was a healthy eater who was stuck in a rut of her same-old, go-to meals. During and after she felt satisfied, energized and motivated in a way she never had before with food. Even her husband, Carl, was on board with the exciting meals she was cooking on the plan. Occupation: Organizational… Read More

Six Practical Tips for Getting Back on the Healthy Eating Track

07/06/12

If there’s one phrase I hear over and over again in my coaching practice, it’s this: “I just need to get back on track.” It seems many of us know how to eat well and what we need to do to take care of ourselves but after a vacation, a long weekend or holiday or just a crazy week of… Read More

I have been wanting to try @matcha_116 since I had heard good things and it's a short walk from SoHo in Greenwich Village. There was no line so I was happy.

The interior is bare bones which is totally fine with me, but I wouldn't necessarily say we got a warm welcome when we walked in. We were the only customers.

I thought this woman was a customer, but it turns out she was making the matcha! The woman who took my order was on the other side of the counter.

This was the set up.

I ordered the16 oz Uji matcha over ice. Milk options were oat or whole. I chose oat. Honestly, the matcha was 10/10. Strong and smooth, just like in Japan. Would totally go back.
