In my many years coaching with Gabrielle Bernstein, I learned that “fear speaks first and loudest.”
I know this.
But that doesn’t mean that when I want to do something or have an idea that I don’t try to talk myself out of it or dream up a laundry list of reasons why it won’t work.
I’ve learned to catch myself in the act and recognize these moments as fear disguised in excuses.
I know so many entrepreneurs who can relate to this experience which inspired the topic of the Young Female Entrepreneurs of NYC’s March Meet-up, Clear Your Fear.
I gathered an inspiring panel of expert entrepreneurs at Space on White who could assure us that fear is natural, teach us how to recognize it and give some practical tips for moving past it and getting shit done.
Panelists included:
Ishita Gupta, founder of fear.less magazine,
Chelsea Krost, Millenial Lifestyle Expert and Host of The Chelsea Krost Show
Kelly Lynn Adams, Certified Professional Business Leadership and Life Coach, Motivational Speaker and Writer
Check out some of the words of wisdom from the night in the Storify re-cap from YFE Member, Stephanie Voong.
I know from experience that when I “feel the fear and do it anyway,” things usually work out. If they don’t, there’s a lesson to be learned.
Where in your life does fear creep in? How do you move past it?
