I’m in western NY for a family reunion this weekend and nothing could have prepared me for the cold, rainy weather that greeted us. To say this part of the state isn’t blessed with beautiful weather would be an understatement. Yet I seemed to have forgotten and didn’t bring proper running gear to keep me warm and dry resulting in an extreme lack of motivation for Saturday and Sunday’s workouts.
Week 5 Workouts:
Monday – Strength
Tuesday – 40 minute Run
Wednesday – Strength + 30 minute Bike
Thursday – 30 minute Swim + 25 minute Run
Friday -Rest
Saturday – 50 minute Run
Sunday – 30 minute Swim + 45 minute Run
Saturday and Sunday’s runs took place on a treadmill. And Sunday’s swim in this pool (where I think I spent more time turning than actually swimming because of the size):
The only things that got me out of bed both days were these two beauties from the Lolë Showtique NYC:
The Lolë In line Tank Top in Petunia
The Lolë Spiral Tank Top in Black
I’m obsessed and can’t wait to buy more. They’re sweat-wicking, figure-flattering and comfortable. Imagine running topless with something invisible holding you in place. Yes, that comfortable. They totally did the trick to get me on the treadmill and enjoy my otherwise unexciting indoor workouts.
Speaking of triathlons and before I share this week’s workouts, I want give a huge shout out to my friends who finished the Ironman NYC Triathlon on Saturday. It takes incredible physical and mental stamina to swim 2.4 miles, bike 112 miles and run 26.2 miles (a marathon) all in succession. Special recognition goes to my friend Gene, founder of the Charity Miles app, who served as a guide to Jack Chen, a blind triathlete.
Week 6 Workouts:
Monday – Strength
Tuesday – 40 minute Bike + 15 minute Run
Wednesday – 15 minute Swim + 40 minute Run
Thursday – Strength + 40 minute Run
Friday – Rest
Saturday – 55 minute Run
Sunday – 30 minute Swim + 60 minute Bike
Now I want to know — what motivates you to do something when you don’t want to do it whether it’s working out, cleaning your house or grocery shopping. Tell me how you “fake it ’til you make it”?
