If I told you that counting macros for weight loss changed my body and my relationship with food, would you believe me?

In all my years as a Health Coach, I’ve never been into diets. My methodology was this: workout, eat healthy and control cravings. Sounds simple enough and it worked for me, for the most part.

But, I never saw the muscle tone I wanted to have as someone who exercised as much as I did.

In my health coaching practice, this same methodology gave my clients a solid foundation for eating healthier, but I wanted them to see life-changing results that blew them away.

That’s when counting macros for weight loss came onto my radar and not only changed my body but my relationship with food.

In 2018, I found macro coaching which taught me how to eat in a more effective way to change my body composition with proper nutrition for optimal results.

My 40th birthday was on the horizon and though I didn’t necessarily have any weight to lose, I wanted to see how I could improve my nutrition. I embarked on an 8-week program and immediately noticed an enormous shift in my energy levels.

As the weeks went on, my blood sugar balanced, I felt satisfied by my meals and my cravings disappeared. I didn’t want that feeling to end, so I signed up for another round. After the second round, I had lost weight and built lean muscle. My clothes fit like a dream! When I turned 40, I was the most confident and energized I had ever been!

Four years later, I’m now a Macro Coach and offer macro coaching for women!

These are a few of the things I was doing wrong:

  1. Exercising too much
  2. Doing too much cardio
  3. Eating too few calories
  4. Cutting out too many foods
  5. Not pairing the right workouts with the right nutrition

All of the above, each in its own way, was destroying my hormones and metabolism.

This is how counting macros for weight loss changed my body and relationship with food:

  1. Learning how to fuel my body properly for my workouts
  2. Giving my body the gift of a more efficient, fat-burning metabolism
  3. Getting off the “diet mentality” train
  4. Forever transforming my relationship with food
  5. Building lean muscle and feeling strong
  6. Gaining confidence around food and within my body

Ever since the day I started, I’ve been enjoying a macro-focused lifestyle. It has completely changed my perspective on fitness and nutrition.

You can even make adjustments for pregnancy and postpartum so it’s safe. My results with counting macros for weight loss postpartum.

Where I previously believed nutrition had to mean no indulgences, I now get so much more enjoyment out of food because I not only feel completely nourished but I can go on vacation, eat dessert, enjoy carbs without guilt and drink wine and feel confident I will still reach my goals.

Where I was previously a slave to my workouts, I now spend less time exercising and more time living my life. My workouts are efficient and because they’re paired with nutrition, they deliver results. My body has more muscle tone and less fat which is important to me as I get older.

Finally, and this was always a big one for me – there are absolutely no supplements, meals or shakes to buy. You eat your own food and you learn how to smartly dine out at restaurants.
