Being an athletic person who is dairy-free and for the most part limits animal products, finding acceptable protein powder for my needs has been a years-long challenge. Most plant-based protein powder that has come before either didn’t blend well, didn’t digest well or had an unpleasant aftertaste leaving me to give up on them altogether.
Then Skoop came along and the founder graciously offered me a full-sized sample. I was skeptical but it only took 1 smoothie until I was convinced my search for a plant-based powder was over.
Here’s the scoop on Skoop.
It’s gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, non GMO.
It’s organic and derived from whole foods.
Currently there are three Skoop products:
A Game, is a nutrient-dense superfood powder that contains 41 antioxidant-rich, probiotic-friendly and adaptogenic superfood ingredients like reishi mushrooms, astragalus, spiraling and wheatgrass. Two flavors – Sweetgreens and Chocofresh. Basically, all-day energy in a cup. Blend it with water, non-dairy milk or in a smoothie with fruit and veggies.
B Strong, has 16 grams of essential and nonessential amino acid-containing plant protein, 4 times more bioavailable than steak. Mix it with water, blend it in a smoothie or combine it with A Game for a meal replacement super-smoothie.
B Lovely, is a blend of seeds, veggies, fruit and Japanese flowers formulated to nourish your skin, hair and nails. Resveratrol prevents oxidative stress for a healthy glow, anthocyanins improve circulation and alpha linolenic acid repairs damaged collagen. Try it in ice water, hot water or add it to your favorite smoothie. Think of it as a spa treatment in a glass.
After using Skoop for just one week I have tons more energy during the day and feel so much better about the protein power of my smoothies.
While a little pricey, the protein powder is $67 for a $30-serving bag, you can save money with the auto-ship option or buying smaller servings like stick packs. And it’s not just for smoothies! Add it to your pancakes, muffins, oatmeal – basically anything. It’s real food so you can get creative with it!
Try it in my PB Chocolate Protein Dream Smoothie.
