I’ve been cooking up big things at Marissa’s Well-being and Health (MWAH!) and as a result I’ve been a delinquent blogger. To make it up to you, I’ll be posting twice today and make sure to stay tuned for big news tomorrow!
What’s better than an organic juice bar around the corner? Your very own at-home juicer, of course! When my mom sent me my Jack LaLanne Power Juicer last year, I was so excited I proclaimed I would never eat a solid meal again! While that promise didn’t stick very long, I’ve had lots of tasty fun coming up with my own juice concoctions.
The juicer is easy to use and disassmbles just as easily for loading right into the dishwasher. It has always been my absolute favorite kitchen gadget.
This morning I was craving a green juice so I dug around and found some kale, a couple of carrots and an orange and made a Good Morning Delight.
Here are some of my tips for at-home juicing:
- Leave all stems and seeds intact: This is where most of the nutrients are found
- Use what you have: Experiment and try out different variations, you’ll be surprised about what combinations taste good
- Use living foods: No brown or wilted vegetables, you’ll absorb that tired energy
- Juice the softer items before the harder ones
- Add ice to your juice for a cold treat or put your juice in a blender with a banana to make a smoothie
