New Yorkers love their brunch, but truth be told, it often leaves me feeling tired and groggy. But the organic, vegan-friendly menu at Le Pain Quotidien has the opposite effect. On any given weekend, David and I can be found at the Tribeca location enjoying breakfast after our morning workout.
With locations in more than 15 countries and 27 restaurants in NYC alone, the food is always consistent. I’m particularly fond of the high-quality ingredients like chia seeds and quinoa and the changing seasonal specials which keep things fresh and interesting.
The service can be hit-or-miss but you can always expect a wholesome, flavorful meal and the same simple, environmentally friendly decor from the reclaimed wood tables to the energy-efficient lighting.
What I Ate: Organic Acai, Banana and Rawnola Parfait with açaí soy yogurt, chia seeds, sprouted buckwheat and goji berries + Wheatgrass and Citrus Spritzer
What He Ate: One Soft Boiled Egg with a side of Paris Ham
When We Dined: Breakfast, Saturday
Also On the Healthy Side: Some of my other healthy favorites include: Oatmeal & Banana, Quinoa Taboule, Six Vegetable Quiche on a gluten-free crust and Riz au Lait
Be In the Know: Le Pain Quotidien is a full-service restaurant, bakery and pantry. Bakery classes are offered at the Bleecker Street location. Go early or later in the afternoon to beat the crowds.
