If you don’t know this woman already, you’re going to want to.
Wise, empowered and luminous, Terri Cole is inspiring men and women everywhere to live fearless and free. She is well-known for her signature question that has become one of my own favorite mantras:
“If Not You…Who?”
“If Not Now…When?”
Q1. What is the #1 wellness practice you live by? That thing that you do every day without fail because it revs you up from the inside out.
A. I meditate for 45 minutes a day. Starting my day in stillness and silence centers me and connects me to the pure potential of my life. This sets the stage for all that I do. I am eternally grateful to my teachers Dr. Deepak Chopra, Dr. David Simon, and Daviji at the Chopra Center.
I also exercise daily. My health is my number one priority – without it there is nothing else. I love Zumba, hiking, yoga, Intensati, Barre class, weight/sculpting class, and walking everywhere in NYC.
Q2. The premise of the blog is that wherever you are in life, is exactly where you need to be. How did you get to where you are today?
A. I have no doubt that I am exactly where I am meant to be. I believe a big factor to my success is not being afraid of change in all aspects of my life. For example, I was a talent agent and a workaholic for many years. I was already in the process of changing careers to become a licensed psychotherapist when I was diagnosed with cancer, which obviously changed the course of my life and solidified my commitment to managing fear, living a healthy life, and ultimately empowering others.
Q3. What was your biggest transformation along the way?
A. My biggest transformation along my journey was the gratitude and present moment consciousness that came from my cancer diagnosis. I learned that every experience on this life journey is a gift and an honor, even the ones that come in “crappy” packages.
Q4. If you could only own five items, what would they be?
A. Burt’s Bee’s Pomegranate lip balm, my Mac air, Kleen Kanteen water bottle, snuggley heating pad (it is the ONLY thing I put in my microwave), Lavender essential oil.
Q5. What is the theme song for your life right now and why?
A. My theme song right now is India Arie’s “Strength, Courage & Wisdom”.
I am finishing my first solo book project and just shot a new series for Lifetime, The Conversation. I am so excited about all of the events that are transpiring and conspiring to deliver my message about how to Live Fearless and Free to the people that need it most; however, it requires a certain amount of Strength and Courage for sure!
About Terri Cole
Terri Cole, founder of Live Fearless and Free, is a licensed psychotherapist and an expert in transforming fear into freedom. Terri has spent the last two decades empowering companies, celebrities, professional athletes, Broadway performers, supermodels, and individuals across the globe to Live Fearless and Free. This program combines harnessing the power of intention, practical psychology, and thought innovation to create sustainable change and grew out of Terri’s work and research as a psychotherapist and her personal experience, or as she calls it, her “PhD in Fear.”
Terri worked for a decade as a talent agent for super models before earning a master’s degree in clinical psychotherapy from New York University. In 1997, she began a private practice in New York City and married her husband, Victor Juhasz, a widower with three teenage sons. Within 10 months, her father died unexpectedly, she was diagnosed with two kinds of cancer undergoing surgery and radiation treatments, and she and her family were robbed at gunpoint in their home.
From her professional experience, Terri knew she could not let fear dominate her life. With the help of her own therapist, she worked through her fear and spent the next 15 years exploring the mind-body connection to “demystify” fear while running her private practice in New York, Los Angeles, and internationally.
