Danskin Triathlon Race Re-cap: Tri Your Heart Out

09/11/12

I woke up this morning feeling sore. A good sore. The kind of sore you know you’ve earned. Yesterday I completed the Danskin Triathlon in Sandy Hook, NJ, an all-women’s sprint distance race that includes a 1/2 mile swim, a 10 mile bike ride and a 3 mile run. Yesterday, I also re-discovered a part of myself that I had… Read More

Tri Training Week 8: This is it! {how I handle pre-race jitters + my pre-race checklist}

09/03/12

Triathlon Week is finally here! Here’s where I’ll be swimming on Sunday. This past week of training was a bonus one because I mis-calculated the weeks leading up to the race. Big oops! I repeated the previous weeks workouts with a few small tweaks of my own. This week will be an easier week as I taper to prepare for… Read More

Tri Training Week 5: Fake It ‘Til You Make It

08/13/12

I’m in western NY for a family reunion this weekend and nothing could have prepared me for the cold, rainy weather that greeted us. To say this part of the state isn’t blessed with beautiful weather would be an understatement. Yet I seemed to have forgotten and didn’t bring proper running gear to keep me warm and dry resulting in… Read More

Tri Training Week 1: Things Don’t Always Go As Planned

07/16/12

At the beginning of last week, not only did I have a solid triathlon training plan in place, but I also had a stocked fridge. No sooner did I get a quick reminder that things don’t always go as planned. Week 1 Training Plan: Monday – Strength Tuesday – 30 min run Wednesday – Strength + 45 minute Bike Thursday… Read More

Tri, Tri Again

07/12/12

Sometimes life is about stepping outside of comfort zones. Reward often comes from feeling the fear and doing it anyway. Other times, it’s about having a do-over. This post is about the do-overs. I’m big on intention-setting and work with my clients to set intentions at the start of every year. Last December, I created a list of my own…. Read More

These quotes found me for a reason, so I'm sharing These quotes found me for a reason, so I'm sharing for anyone who needs a reminder to choose yourself first.

Last year didn’t break me. It broke me open.

I had to sit with a hard truth: for years, I learned how to shrink. To soften my needs. To edit my voice. To make myself easier to choose.

That season is over.

This year isn’t about seeking validation.
It’s about choosing myself fully, loudly and without apology.

And trusting that what’s meant for me won’t require me to disappear first. 💚💋🫶🏻

Happy New Year! Every year, I like to post a senti Happy New Year! Every year, I like to post a sentiment I've found that inspires me for the year ahead. This one is a little longer than usual, but worth the read. 💚💋🎊

A Willingness to Keep Showing Up

I step into this new year
gently, without resolutions,
with just a simple willingness,
to keep going,
to keep moving forward.

Not the bright, declarative kind of decision
that arrives with banners and promises,
but the quieter kind,
the one that asks for nothing grand.

No transformation.
Just an honest effort
to place one foot in front of the other,
without needing it to be a victory march.

To keep going isn’t strength.
It’s letting the days arrive as they are,
some heavy,
some hollow,
some unexpectedly kind.

It’s allowing grief, fatigue, memory, and love
to share the same room,
without insisting that any of them leave.

There is no list.
No reinvention.
No deadline for becoming someone new.
There is only the steady choice
to remain present,
to trust that willingness itself
is an act of grace.

So this year begins
not with resolve, but with intention:
the intention to stay present,
the intention to try again tomorrow,
the intention to simply keep showing up.
